If you are looking to gain knowledge on one of the most highly diagnosed anxiety disorders in the mental health field, Social Anxiety: How to Exorcise Your Social Demons is the book that you have been looking for.

Social Anxiety Disorder or Social Phobia can be recognized early on in life. Children often reveal signs of anxiety at an early stage. The earlier you recognize the symptoms and signs, the earlier you can make positive life changes. Social skills are a learned skill that lead to healthy communication skills; including verbal, non-verbal and assertiveness. Assertiveness is what allows you to get your needs met. This book outlines and offers explanation on how these components all work together.

When someone has reached recognition, it is time to accept and treat. This book promotes ways to accept struggle points and learn to move past them. There are many treatment options available, but the common theme is practice, practice, practice!

Whether you are listening to this as purely informational or you or someone you know might have social anxiety disorder, the information in this book is easy to follow.

Inside you will find

  • Symptoms of social anxiety disorder
  • Situations that trigger those symptoms
  • Information on learning on social skills as a learned skill
  • Ways you can recognize and accept social anxiety
  • What kind of treatment is available for people with social anxiety
  • How to reach your goal of having a "normal" social circle

Understanding yourself is the first step to control. Determine where you are, where you want to be, and find out how to get there.

I've been going over this workbook with my young adult daughter. It's been slow going; however, she is receptive in giving it a try. So far the first chapter is easy to follow. As I have glanced through the rest of the book, it looks like it's easy to follow and perfect for my daughter's issues.

resoureful book

A really great book . The author clearly has gone through the pangs of social anxiety and has come up with a clear and thorough plan on how to rise above it. I highly recommend taking the time to listen it from beginning to end. It's really tempting to skip to the bold action section, but getting to know yourself and accepting yourself first will lift a weight off your shoulders before trying out the final steps in the real world

I bought this book as I was hoping it would help me improve my assertiveness and make me slightly more extroverted or expressing myself more comfortably. However, as the title perhaps indicated, it seems to me this workbook is for people who have more serious shyness problems beyond the level of ordinary social awkwardness. I can't judge how good a resource it is for that purpose and therefore I rate it four stars.
