Dino nuggies, mood swings, and pointy things

I enjoyed the first book, but this one took it to a whole new level. The author poured on the detail and picked up the pacing a lot. There were fewer plot twists in this book, but it succeeded in fleshing out the backstory while continuing to develop the main story and characters involved. Enjoyed the dungeon segments and the tension within those segments. The further development of the magic system in this one was solid.

First book was more interesting.

The book starts nice and has a serious mood but gets goofy towards the end. Kinda ruined the story for me.
