When Anne's friend Kevin asks her to spend the summer at Grayhaven, his parents' new home in Pennsylvania, it seems like the ideal way to complete the book on contemporary literature they have been working on. And Grayhaven, an authentic medieval manor, proves to be nothing short of miraculous. But at the end of three weeks Anne realizes that she and Kevin have not added one new sentence to their book. What is it about this house that is so disturbing?©1981 Barbara Michaels (P)1993 Recorded Books, LLC Gothic Horror Scary Suspense Thriller & Suspense

I was enjoying this book until the last bit. The narrator was really good .

The ending ruined it for me.

I usually like Barbara Michael's,but this wasn't one of her better books. The story was half baked really, not much to it.The narrator did pretty good with the character's & their voices & giving them life but the story was a bit bland.

No one in the House

Barbara Rosenblat captures the nuances and tones conveyed by Michaels' excellent writing perfectly. Must read.

Barbara is Anne

I always enjoy Barbara Rosenblatt’s performance, but the protagonist’s conclusion left much to be desired. The way she reached it seemed as likely because of mental illness as her ratiocination.

Meandering plot, unsatisfying ending
