It was a night of danger and intrigue.

Disguised as the mysterious beauty Lisette, Lady Elfled Malloren anticipates only fun and flirtation at the Vauxhall Gardens Masquerade. Instead, the dark walkways lead to an encounter with treason, a brush with death, and a night of riotous passion with her family's most dangerous enemy - the elusive Fortitude Ware, earl of Walgrave. His control is indisputable, his power unquestionable, his attraction undeniable. And after just one night, Elf knows she will never forget the man she should not love....

Contains mature themes.

This book added to the previous books in the series! I can’t wait to read the next book as soon as possible

Excellent

Sorry Susan Duerden, but this one was just too slow, monotonous, breathy, and bland. Everyone sounded the same, had the same inflections, and tones. It wasn’t the worst I’ve ever heard, but I had to speed it up to 1.25 both to get the monotony, less severe, and to get the book over with because it was almost torturous lol.

The story was pretty good, until near the end when they just unrelentingly spent ssooo much time in the “whether or not we’re going to be in a relationship” kind of thing. I hate when we spend so much time on that. Either get it over with, or throw in some more storyline. After loving the first book in the series so much, (skipped #2 due to finding this one on sale) I had super high hopes for this one, and I was definitely disappointed.

I got this book on sale for $2.94 and for that reason alone, it was worth it to be able to have completed one of the books in the series, but if it had been any more than that, I would’ve been disappointed and felt like it wasn’t worth it. Definitely not worth a whole credit and questionable as to whether it is gonna be worth it in a two for one sale.

Narration was something wicked!
