A Wall Street Journal bestseller and Daphne du Maurier Award winner.

FBI Special Agent Ava McLane solves crimes; she doesn’t witness them. When she’s trapped in a mall without her weapon as a shooter picks off victims, she hides with a wounded teen and prays for her survival.

But that’s only the beginning....

An epidemic of mass shootings has has swept across Oregon. The young shooters terrify the public, committing random murders before taking their own lives. The task force assembled to solve the case - which includes Ava’s boyfriend, detective Mason Callahan - remains stumped. And on top of this chaos, Ava’s troubled twin sister reappears, throwing Ava’s already-tumultuous life into a tailspin.

An old-fashioned cop with a strong sense of duty, Mason struggles to find the cause of the shootings as workaholic Ava spins ever closer to breaking down. But can one detective save the lives of countless innocents - and prevent the woman he loves from going over the edge?

I love crime and suspense books from Kendra but this was one of my least favorites. The killer was too catoony and performed poorly by one of the narrators. Ava's mental regression was done poorly as something that has taken hour they're talking like it's been years. I couldn't wait to be finished with this book as it was frustrating to say the least.

Meh, not Kendra's bet

in the first two books, Nick Podehl voiced the Mason chapters, and all the male and female voices in those chapters. Amy McFadden did the same in the Ava chapters. they are both Excellent voice actors!
what was even better in this book, was that although they basically did the same, when it was Mason and Ava, one on one, Both actors voiced their characters, together. i Loved that!
i wish more authors would do the same with their male and female characters. as cool as it would be to have one female do all the female parts, and one male doing all male parts, i recognize that would be a lot. they way they did things here, combining the two, it really brought things together and gave it all more Life.
awesome work!!
not to mention, the end=)...
(sniff sniff) =))

I found this book fast-paced it kept my interest yet I found the main character to be frustrating in the fact that she had such poor personal boundaries. I found that the killer in this audio book very very demented so much so that I almost stopped listening to it a couple times. With that said we will see if I purchase another book in the series although I must say the author of this book writes very well I'm just not happy with all of the characters.

If you like dysfunction in the extreme with action you will like this book
