Miles “Shrug” Lindstrom has endured the first few days of his new monster-infested world.

He has become the Champion of a god, and managed to become one of the most powerful survivors in his area.

However, a new quest to kill a giant—a boss monster—will be difficult if not impossible to accomplish by himself. Gathering more power for himself is a safe bet towards all of his goals, and might be easier now that he has a class. But if this new world is anything, it’s uncertain.

Join Miles as he continues to navigate a newly post-apocalypse world full of monsters, magic, and people demonstrating the very best, and very worst that humanity has to offer.

Will he accept the expectations that other survivors have for him? Will he reject them? Or will he find his own path?

This was a fairly good story, but this book should’ve been part of the last book. It felt like one continuous story that was cut in half. The first books ending was rather stupid and didn’t feel like a proper ending. This book felt like it had a proper ending but the start of the book felt awkward. As for the overall story, it was very atypical of an RPG apocalypse story. What makes the story interesting is how the main character reacts to his situation.
The story is set in the same universe as the Apocalypse Cultivation series. I enjoyed the first book of that series. The second book not so much. The second book in that series is really took a quality dive so I was very unsure how the second book in this series would pan out. But overall, it turned fairly good. I would definitely be interested in seeing a third book in this series. But I am not sure that the author has any real plans for another book in this series. The first two books in the series was posted on Royal Road, but nothing has been posted indicating the third book would be coming.

Good but should’ve been part of the last book.

This is too short to be its own book. Purely an extension of the previous. Excited for the next one but please don't sell us short again. Not interested in buying a single book for the price of two.

Should have been part of last book but good

This is a very good story! And don’t worry about the short length of the book, the author does a really good job balancing detail, action, world building, and character development.

Awesome series, don’t be scared of the short length
