From USA Today and number-one Amazon best-selling author Jeremy Bates comes a tale of mystery and horror set in Japan's ancient Suicide Forest, a place that is easy to enter but, for some, impossible to leave.

Just outside of Tokyo lies Aokigahara, a vast forest and one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in Japan...and also the most infamous spot to commit suicide in the world. Legend has it that the spirits of those many suicides are still roaming, haunting deep in the ancient woods.

When bad weather prevents a group of friends from climbing neighboring Mt. Fuji, they decide to spend the night camping in Aokigahara. But they get more than they bargained for when one of them is found hanged in the morning - and they realize there might be some truth to the legends after all.

Contains mature themes.

very well written, I did not expect the ending at all and that is tough to do as an avid scary story reader.

very good

Good but I wish this book had started around chapter 38. The narrator was easy to listen to.

I enjoyed this book, there were parts of the narration where I felt like I was listening to a YA novel then anything but it was hard for me to decide if I just wasn’t into the narrator or I would have felt the same way if I was reading the book myself. The twist to the story was certainly worth pushing through the parts I thought were a bit tacked on. I will check out more by this author.

Very dark, pretty gruesome

I found the story slow and the action uninteresting. When the story began to pick up 3/4 in I felt too little too late and it seemed to simply wind up in the final two chapters.

The title caught me my eye

I loved this story, it's dark and suspenseful with a good amount of plot twists. The narrator does different voices for the characters, which I also enjoyed. 10/10 would recommend if you like morbid suspense novels.
