Great start to a new series!

Loved the concept of symbiotic relationships with aliens. Plenty of action and great characters. Looking forward to seeing what happens next!

Good Yound Adult Story

I'm a fan of J.N. Chaney so when this initial book for a new series was announced, I immediately put it on my wish list. The story is written in young adult fashion and seems to focus on that demographic based on the main characters. Nonetheless, it is entertaining as long as you're not one of those sci-fi readers that expects long explanations on the "science" of space travel or the possibility of alien "venom" turning humans into symbiotic hosts. Jeffrey Kafer is one of the better narrators on Audible so that was another reason for my purchase decision.

Disliked that all books were not audio

Due to poor eye site I switched to audio books. I really hate it when the first book in a series is audio but the rest of the books have to be read as is the case in this series. Therefor I have to miss the rest of the books .

Worst Chaney-involved series I've tried to listen

This series just is not interesting or entertaining enough to get past how unlikable the majority of the characters are. The MC family members are whiny children, sometimes literally.

Kafer is good as always, but he can't save such irritating characters.

The premise could be interesting, but it's not worth hours of listening to get through the "growing up" that apparently needs to be shown.

Way to much YA

This is very heavy YA, teen level. The story overall is good, but is very much dragged down by the YA's who are totally clueless about common sense.
