The gripping thriller with a difference from Lisa Stone Have you seen Leila?

8-year-old Leila Smith has seen and heard things that no child should ever have to. On the Hawthorn Estate, where she lives, she often stays out after dark to avoid going home.

But what Leila doesn’t know is that someone has been watching her in the playground. One day, she disappears without a trace…

The police start a nationwide search but it’s as if Leila has vanished into thin air. Who kidnapped her? What do they want? Will she return home safely or is she lost forever?

I am a fan of Cathy Glass books, but was skeptical about reading a mystery book that was fiction, I'm so glad I read this book, it was edge of ur seat good, don't want to get out of my car (audible) good!! Now I will go on to more Lisa Stone books!!!

This could have been much better. I liked the story. The performance was really good too. But I hate characters that are stupid. The police are so far from anything that seems logical and they rely on their personal feelings instead of the actual evidence and I got more mad at the them than the actual antagonist. There could have Ben more actual content and let go of some of the unnecessary commentary that just plays it out so much longer. If you patient this is a great book. If you can see the holes like me you’ll be annoyed. Maybe a better read the book story so you can skip the parts you don’t need to read. Love the story but maybe more what the story could be. Stupid characters annoy me and there’s at least one or two. Happy listening!

Good story but not accomplished well

I chose this book via my monthly Amazon Music subscription. Bronwen Price’s narration is a highlight. Stone's writing is well-done, crafting a story that's more of a suspenseful drama. The story follows Leila, a young girl who's disappeared from her neighborhood. As the investigation unfolds, questions arise about what happened to her. Price's narration brilliantly brings “Taken” to life, helping to make this an intriguing listen. The plot started strong, drawing me into Leila's world and her disappearance. However, the story slows down, making it tough to stay fully engaged. Overall, “Taken” has some standout moments, particularly in the narration. Each to their own.

The vanishing act!
