With Pack defeated, Marcus is now King of the Therians, but he quickly learns there is a difference between sitting on the throne of your defeated foe and running a kingdom. Before Pack's body is cold, he faces resistance from the Chosen and needs to find those he can trust among the conquered masses. Balancing expectations while charting a new path for all Therians is more difficult than he expected.

It's a good thing he's up for the challenge, but as Grave, there is more than Therians on his mind. The Feds are still after him, and Ranger is relentless. As tough as it is having the strongest Neohuman in the world after him, the Federal Response Teams aren't the only external threats he faces. Gangs of humans and Neohumans alike threaten his newfound territory, and the beast Pack awakened inside him will not tolerate it. Plus, he needs to figure out how to launder the fifty million dollars he stole.

There is no rest for the wicked. He must deal with all the new threats or lose everything he's gained. Thankfully, he's got a superpowered blonde, a mad scientist, a ghost-girl, and a magic ninja to help.

Love the series, even though there are some things I really don’t like

I gotta say I didn’t expect to like this series as much as I do. The characters and story thus far have all been really good, and even though the male VA makes vocal choices that grate on my ears sometimes I still found the series an enjoyable listen.

I’ve only had 2 problems with the story thus far and they’re both about the story direction. I really really really don’t like the MC bringing a known grapist into the harem. Like we’ve already established that she uses blackmail to take sexual advantage of the fairer sex, and you willing get with someone like this? I mean I get it, you’re a thief and have a bit of a stilted view of morality but to me that act is over the line. The second issue I had was an extension of that. The MC willingly becoming a porn star. To each their own on this one, but it rubs me personally the wrong way. I lost a huge chunk of the respect I had for the MC with that decision.

Character development

This book is a good installment in the series with excellent character development. There are definitely some characters I would like to see added family. I was not a fan of gabby‘s character and how she has been acting. Overall I look forward to the next book.

A decent continuation however..

it genuinely feels like there is more cutting here than 100 pages/ 3ish hours of book compared to the first two. I will say pacing has improved and narration as well but despite the shorter length it's like it was still padded with full memory scenes that are word for word copy and paste from the previous books when a description would suffice. yet still, despite having better pacing than books 1 & 2 we don't get near as much progress or content, and I think the story suffers for it especially with just how often rehashes or reminders are in the story.

all that said it's still a fun easy to enjoy series and I am not saying it's bad but definitely weaker than the first two books. ONTO BOOK 4
