This electrifying global phenomenon makes World Cup football hooliganism look like a church picnic.

In an added twist, at the Usurper Stage of the Amnesty Games, some of the Hopefuls are digitally “taken over” by selected Warders, who get to compete as avatars for the chance to win medicine, food, and water rations for themselves and for their families.

As trained warriors and defenders of Nova Heights, 17-year-old Alora and her team of Hawkers are assigned to oppose the Hopefuls in their quest for amnesty. Alora is confident in herself, in her team, and in the importance of the games for the ongoing stability of the elite members of Nova Heights.

But what happens when buried secrets are revealed and the two sides stop playing the game by the same rules?

too much like hunger games/divergent

I liked most of it although divergent was definitely in the background of my mind. the bad language was unnecessary.

Unexpected Twists!

Pleasant surprise. A dystopian themed book with some unexpected twists. Narrator kept a good pace throughout and kept my attention, which is hard for me to find a narrator that will keep my attention. I would recommend!

great story

I thought this may be a copy of hunger games but they really made the story very unique and kept me guessing. really looking forward to the next book!

Hard Pass… Save your credit

I’ll try to keep this short and sweet. The main character is annoying. The author is too wordy and uses 10 sentences when 2 would do.
The whole civilization makes no sense. I still don’t know why the stupid games were necessary.
You’ve been warned. Waste your time if you want to.
