When Avery Shaw’s heart is shattered by her life-long best friend, she chooses to deal with it the only way she knows how - scientifically.

The state science fair is coming up, and Avery decides to use her broken heart as the topic of her experiment. She’s going to find the cure. By forcing herself to experience the seven stages of grief through a series of social tests, she believes she will be able to get over Aiden Kennedy and make herself ready to love again. But she can’t do this experiment alone, and her partner (ex partner!) is the one who broke her heart.

Avery finds the solution to her troubles in the form of Aiden’s older brother Grayson. The gorgeous womanizer is about to be kicked off the school basketball team for failing physics. He’s in need of a good tutor and some serious extra credit. But when Avery recruits the lovable Grayson to be her “objective outside observer”, she gets a whole lot more than she bargained for, because Grayson has a theory of his own: Avery doesn’t need to grieve. She needs to live. And if there’s one thing Grayson Kennedy is good at, it’s living life to the fullest.

I should have read the description better but I saw Teddy Hamilton and just one clicked! Anyway, this was a very cute high school romance. (Which, I think i'm a bit too old for but hey, I guess sometimes I still enjoy the boppy sweet romances!) Avery Shaw is heart broken because her best friend Aiden dumped her- she's had a crush on him for forever and he's just not into her in that way. It was kind of an odd relationship, a bit codependent, in fact. In steps Grayson, Aiden's big brother. He also likes Avery and he needs her help to get his science grade up but also, he wants to help her get over Aiden. They have the opportunity to participate in the science fair and decide on a social experiment to help Avery Shaw get over her heart break. It's like no science experiment i've ever thought of but I guess as someone in the hard sciences, I have a bias towards soft sciences :D

Seriously adorable although some moments where I cringed because of overdone teenage angst. Teddy Hamilton and Sarah McEwan were both great and fun to listen to and I overall enjoyed the audiobook.

Cute YA romance

Cute, sweet story. The narration was great and this is the kind of story that kind of makes your hear melt. Yes this is a young adult or teen book but doesn't make it any less cute. Grayson tries to help Avery get over the broken heart caused by his brother by conducting a science experiment of the 7 stages of grief. While she thinks their relationship is only an experiment Grayson actually really likes her and he uses helping her in the name of social science to stay close to her and help her to get over his brother Aiden. Also, you can never go wrong with any book narrated by Teddy Hamilton, this was my first time listening to Sarah McEwan who also did a great job.

Cutest Story

I read this book a few years back and was happy it finally came out on audiobook. The story was still as sweet as I remembered and it's nice to have a clean storyline. I was a little disappointed in the narrator chosen for Avery. Sarah McEwan did okay, but it was hard to differentiate between characters during dialogue. Teddy Hamilton was, well, Teddy Hamilton! You can't go wrong with him. He really made Grayson come alive!

Overall, a decent audiobook.

What a fun story! I read the book then grabbed the Audible so I could listen to it while I walked. The narration was great. Definitely recommend.

Loved it!

I finished this very quickly by KU/AE deal! It was such a fun, delightful, cutesy, & such a giddy type of book! It is a stretch of a storyline...quite cheesy but hey, sometimes, the unbelievable plots with great characters are needed in life. Sometimes, you just need a bit a smile of the unthinkable for a popular guy digging the nerd. Lol and vice versa...I think what makes it even better are the audio narrators= they did so well on capturing their personalities. They pretty much nailed it! I enjoyed every minute of it!

SO DELIGHTFUL
