Failing to make it in pro ball left me absolutely devastated. Baseball has been my life, my dream, but it’s time to move on.

Becoming a sports agent was always my back-up plan, and now that I’m interning at the biggest queer-focused firm in the country, I’m doing my best not to let my bitterness toward baseball affect my future.

That’s really difficult when I’m assigned to babysit Kelley Afton, hotshot rookie pitcher for Philly. He has everything I ever wanted, and he doesn’t even appreciate it. I didn’t become an agent so I could soothe the ego of diva athletes.

His constant need for validation from others frustrates me to no end, but that’s probably a good thing. Because if he didn’t have that, I’d find him irresistibly my type.

Attraction could lead to crossing lines which would put my position at King Sports in jeopardy, and I can’t have that.

I don’t have a backup for my backup plan.

Love the narrators

If it wasnt for the narrators. Its an okay story about a baseball player and an agent in training. Slow ...... too start. It gets a bit better once it gets going. the narrators make this story. Duet narration.

Glad I ignored negative reviews!

Really loved these two, and can’t wait for this Kings Sports series to continue! Also fun to revisit so many couples from multiple past series in this universe!!! Great set up for another fun Eden Finley series. Loooove the duet narration, that always adds so much!

Pitch Perfect Slow Burn

The Backup Plan is a heartfelt sports romance with depth, charm, and slow-burn chemistry that really works. Liam DiCosimo and Tim Paige bring Kelley and Thad’s emotional journey to life with distinct voices and a natural rhythm that enhances every scene. Kelley's struggles with anxiety and life under the spotlight are handled with care, and Thad's personal growth adds another layer of warmth. Their banter, tension, and eventual connection felt genuine and rewarding. A strong start to the series, made even better by a solid narration duo.

Great story

I love this book. It was funny. It was wild. It’s definitely worth the credit. Highly recommended.

Loved it!

Eden Finley is a favorite of mine. She can balance comedy, spice, and seriousness unlike most authors I have read! She definitely stands out in a crowd and this book did just that! Not to mention the narration is on point and the spice factor is through the roof!
