I didn’t know her name, but I heard her laugh, tasted her lips, and felt her warm skin as I held her in my arms. Together, we watched our young children playing in the sand, the warm ocean lapping at the shore behind them as the setting sun painted the sky. She was my soul mate, and this was our life, our beautiful forever....

Then I woke up - alone in a hospital room, connected to wires and machines.

There was no wife, no kids, not a single soul waiting for me. That life I dreamt of - it never existed.

The woman I loved, the woman I knew better than I knew myself - she wasn’t real.

But then she walked into my life six months later...only the woman of my dreams was the one woman I could never have.

Author's note: This angsty contemporary romance contains no cheating or love triangles.

This story was intriguing and kept my interest to the the end. Savannah is a favourite narrator of mine. It took a few chapters to connect with Rock Eagle’s voice but ultimately both narrators were strong and engaging.

Beautifully written

To start off, the narrators for this audiobook were fantastic!

As for the story itself, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. It follows Cainan, who dreams of a perfect life — a wife, two kids, happiness — only to wake up after an accident and realize none of it was real. To make matters worse, the woman from his dream turns out to be his best friend’s fiancée, Brie.

While Brie struggles with her feelings (or lack thereof) toward her fiancé, she can’t ignore the unexpected connection she feels with Cainan.

This was a beautifully written story — well-paced, emotional, and just the right length. It’s heartfelt without dragging, and it leaves you thinking about love, fate, and timing long after it ends.

A beautiful story about destiny

The whole story line, I don’t know how to describe it, was just right! From the plot, to the narrators it was perfect!

Love it
