Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was a reclusive poet whose only friendships were carried out in correspondence. Despite writing almost 1800 poems in her life, very few were published until after her death. Here, the poems are presented in chronological order in their original form, unaltered by editorial revision, in one volume. It offers a wide-angle view of Dickinson's poetic development, from the clunky rhyme schemes of her youth, through valentines she wrote in the early 1850s, to the gloomy, hell-obsessed writings of her last years.

Very talented poetry indeed!

Emily is obviously an exceptionally talented woman. It is clear how dear she was to her friends by the lengths they went to for her works to be published. I enjoyed the excerpts about that very much.

As for the reader, I understand why it was done in the manner it was. So that the words could speak from themselves. Yet the monotony of her tone made it almost robotic. Which is not pleasant to me, especially when it comes to such emotional packed poetry.

Singular voice apart from the others

It’s like having time travel tea with a poetic genius who also loves nature. I listen to it while I fall asleep.

I loved the poetry nice to hear it read, the narrator had a beautiful voice. the book is a must have.

Odd Mispronunciations, AI narrator?

scion as sky on and she never takes a breath? Sounds like an ai robot voice. Wish I could return it, but I waited too long.

This narrator is awful

I wish I had played a sample before buying this. The person reading these poems sounds like a six-year-old delivering a silly lecture. Ugh. Just ugh.
