With a decisive onslaught, the clan of necromancers is reclaiming its properties. The occupied capital is re-christened once again with its original name, Richterberg. The city is under siege, surrounded by Focus monsters and an army of enemies.

But wars are fought not only with brute strength; the intellect is at least as important. Max Richter makes cause with an unexpected ally—a legend as ancient as Max himself.

It is getting good. I do wish it had more clan building, but the pace and the story are excellent

look I love all these books. but this was the first that felt really not planned out well. so much happend with the idea of things but no plot and a lot of plot all at once. some things moved forward but so much internal dialog on his plans were made. but the dialog didn't explain anything. it just drove me crazy this time around. maybe this book suffered a bit from translation and pacing issues combined with some sort of editing problem. so much of the story felt stalled then all at once stuff happened but never really did it in a way that was written. it's almost like you listen to so much inner monologue about how smart he is and good he is that you realize all at once the plot moved but not in a coherent way. this book wasn't even normally funny like every one of these books has been. too much focus was given to teen dialog and date moments and too little on actual plot structure. I truly hope these get better the next book. I've enjoyed so many of his series! still excited to see where all of this goes tho

totally a circular book

Great simple story doesn’t get over complicated. I use these when my mind needs a break

I don't know why I like this series. The main character is a Mary sue who succeeds at everything, but they put enough challenge in the world for him because he can't be everywhere at once. This leads in to some interesting political problem solving. The world building is good, and I love seeing where it will go next.

This addition to the series helped tie up some loose ends with one of the high clans, as well as setting it up a timer with them for some future problems. It introduced a new underwater faction, and the end added in a neat harry potter style high school section. The

I will definitely get the next one.

I still love this, and I really shouldn't
