“I am a man” made my day. Some relatable mundane humor definitely improves the series.

A dive off the deep end

Books 8-10 went from mountain mystery to spy thriller fantasy. It was like listening to a Michael Crichton book aka screenplay, and I would not be surprised if this series is already under option for TV. The plots of this set of 3 books just stretch believability, popping me out of the story, and got me wondering how the scope of Wolf’s job or life was going to expand beyond Rocky Points before the entire town’s population becomes the victim of old grudges, serial murderers, or international drug cartels somehow focused on Nowhere, Colorado. As much as I have enjoyed the descriptive narrative and thoughtful character building, I don’t know if I can stick with this series.
