Terrific, original story

Love this wonderful story about a young widow, a survivor of abuse, and a middle-age bachelor duke who loves her. Narrator Bridget Thomas does a wonderful job!

Jessie Clever has done it again. With her subtle prose and exquisite character development, she has created a story that melts your heart and makes you want more. I could not get enough of Gabriel and Annie. Both had their trauma and demons and had to work through them to get to their HEA, but the journey is so beautiful that it has you cheering for them along the way. Annie is a young widow whose first husband was abusive and demeaning to her so she wants to remain a widow; Gabriel is an acquaintance who feels compelled to protect her and help her navigate her situation. Their love for each other is gradual, but palpable. What a wonderful couple.

Bridget Thomas' narration is so beautiful that it enhanced the experience exponentially. Do not listen to anyone that says otherwise about her.

I just love this book and this author and will definitely put this in my Favorites folder. Worth a credit for sure. ♡
