Get Fluency today, and then read EVERYTHING she has written (short stories, too, like this one, The Grove). You won't go wrong by reading Jen's tales, I swear, you seriously need these books!!!
I just listened to the audible version of this story. It was such a pleasure to hear it in Jennifer's own voice...
A gem of a story!

I prefer books that come from a different angle and that is what treed me to this novella. As mentioned by another reviewer, there are no humans in this. I give an A for Concept. After the beginning of this story it dragged. Maybe it was, too much, too fast? I would have liked to have spent more time with the main character and with this world. A longer version, in which we start with the mother, the birthing, the growing up and than the separation, could have been more interesting. The world created could also use more exploration. To capture the male audience, some violence, evil and or sex would help.
