I first heard Mel's infectious storytelling and motivation on the Minimalists' Podcast. 5 minutes in, I was ugly crying while driving home from Trader Joe's. Not because her story was sad or happy or anything else...but because it was SO TRUE. Mel resonates.
I immediately came home, renewed my Audible account, and bought it. I listened in a day and made a friend get it too. I have started the 5 day challenge.
Did this book immediately make everything in my life perfect? No. That's not the point. This book gave me the tools to honor where I am (starting over again...at 40...single...after a major job upheaval...and in therapy for my COVID related anxiety meltdown).
It's time for me to learn to be my own best friend, perfect partner, and cheerleading section. There is only one person I am gifted to spend the rest of my life with: me.
