A spine-tingling nightmare reawakened with a new recording & new narrator.

Joanna Rand left the U.S. ten years ago to sing in a Japanese nightclub. Ever since, she’s been haunted by the same horrifying nightmare. Each time she awakens, she feels violated, used, and scared. The only man who can help her is Alex Hunter. Ten years ago, he saw her picture in the papers as a senator’s daughter who’d disappeared. Now he has to bring her memories back to her - memories of a past more terrifying than they dreamed possible...

The story is good Dean Koontz. It is a little slow in getting too much of the action that we enjoy, but the surprising twists are enjoyable.
We both thought it was a little mushy at times. But overall deserving of a 4 1/2 star rating.

We still miss the odd Thomas series.

Interesting twist in this Dean Koontz novel.

The first commercial success for Dean Koontz. This is NOT new material (quite the opposite). Originally published via pseudonym, so publication might precede 1979. Still an interesting listen. Definitely a Mystery. Nothing remotely supernatural here.. It's worth the Kindle price. Don't expect the quality or vibe of "Strangers", "Intensity" or any other of his best early novels. The Kyoto setting is enjoyable, different. It's *only* worth a credit if you're the most hardcore fan. 5 stars for Caitlin Kelly's narration!

DK's first book (originally published in 1979)

I just downloaded the book because it was a Dean Koontz novel that I had not read yet. I was expecting something supernatural. this is not that it's more of espionage and intrigue. that being said, I still enjoyed it very much. not my favorite Dean Koontz novel, but it was a really good one.

Enjoyable lisy

i’m just lately becoming a koontz fan, as i’ve forever been diehard king, but to the person who said this book is only worth the credit if you’re a hard core DK fan i say, whatever! and also, plz 🤨
this story may not have had a supernatural element, but it was still gripping and intense! a lot of twists you won’t see coming, and i especially liked the ending!
as for Caitlin Kelly, well, i’ve loved her since the first Mystic Caravan book, so it was wonderful getting to see/hear her take on something in this genre. simply phenomenal! her Japanese accent is on point, and the different voices she does are always believable. you will absolutely forget that you’re listening to one person, not a full cast!
she is, as always, a 5⭐️ voice actor!!
loved it all!💞

really good!
