The first rule of living through the apocalypse. Trust no one.

Ara

Is desperate to reunite with her father and put the events that happened in Boise behind her. Ara hopes to find sanctuary in The Last City, an almost-mythical place where the plague is nonexistent and she can finally discover the truth about her family. Once she arrives, she discovers the truth is stranger than fiction, and Ara wonders if she’s made a huge mistake....

Kaden

Will go anywhere for Ara, will do anything, but he’s tested to his limits in The Last City. Forced to join a dangerous expedition, Kaden soon finds himself separated from Ara and, once again, on the run for his life. He barely escaped alive, and now he needs to risk it all again to find Ara in The Last City....

Sam

Has hooked up a rigged electrical system, blasting away the silence with music, feeling almost normal since he nearly lost his life. He doesn’t know where Kaden and Ara are, and when he meets a mysterious girl named E, they embark on an adventure that will bring all of their lives clashing together....

All three must uncover the secrets of The Last City if they have any hope of getting out of this apocalypse alive.

Loved this story. The girl that read for Ara was a little annoying to listen to but everyone else reading was great.

Great story

Much like my review with the first book, I enjoyed the second one and am eagerly awaiting the next one- and as expected it was just as good as the first book. It starts off with a bit of a jump forward from the first book but you get caught up pretty quickly. The twists and turns keep you guessing but focused to see if you are right. Some things are predictable but not in a bad way, just in a way that the atory is moving forward and giving you the information needed. I enjoyed the ending, and how it really sets up the next book...though since this one just came out who knows how long that will be-oh well bot much I can do but be patient .
Once again the story nearly gets 5 stara but the cheese parts- are just...so...CHEESEY. It detracts a bit, especially when its from the two main protagonists Kaden and Ara- their characters and their character development really don't fit the cheesey, mushy type. However, the story, voice actors all of it is well done-except for the cheese.

Just keeps pulling you in

I haven’t enjoyed a series as much as this one in a long time! The story is awesome, the characters are well developed and it’s so beautifully written. I can’t wait for the next book.

A perfect second book!

I couldn’t stop listening. If you enjoy dystopian adventure, this series is excellent. There is romance but the author kept it clean and the lead characters are strong. I definitely recommend this book for teens, young adults, and older.

I didn’t want the book to end
