Fate has an ironic sense of timing....

Hardened ex-hit man Peter Black is back working the dark corridors of the CIA. It just so happens that fate has an ironic sense of timing. His first week back coincides with the unleashing of a cataclysmic virus that plunges the world into unparalleled turmoil.

The sole antidote hides in a secret lab hidden beneath Sudan’s burning desert. But with the country on the verge of civil war, the CIA’s initial extraction mission fails, losing the vital cure in a maelstrom of savage violence.

As the clock ticks and desperation grows, Peter is thrown into the conflict’s raging heart, racing to retrieve the cure while evading deadly threats.

Navigating a gauntlet of hostile soldiers, renegade rebels, ruthless bounty hunters, cunning Russian agents, thieves, and scoundrels, Peter strives to pull humanity back from the brink of annihilation in this thrilling tale of survival, courage, and redemption.

I’ve been listening to these books in order. The Peter Black series is excellent. Fast moving, engaging, entertaining. I can’t wait to get into the next one. Each prior one has had its own strengths, and this one was no exception. They’re up-to-date with the events of the world we live in. This helps make the stories more interesting.

Great storyline

A bit silly but still fun read. The narrative voice is awesome. Which probably made the story a little bit better. I like this series overall but this particular book was a bit silly with too much luck involved. These are supposed to be the top assassins, but they just get out of situation by luck and everyone knows that Azriel is this top assassin but they keep leaving them alive? Why not just killing as soon as you have them captured.

the book was fantastic, love the series. The author(s) must be fans of the good, the bad and the ugly. Many similarities, especially with tuco and the "rat". Not that this is a western. But a great listen!

I love the Peter Black series. This book keeps your heart pumping and is very action packed. The book may have been rushed a bit however and could've been fixed with a minor story shift.
1. Since when can... the world be ending and America can only spare a helicopter or two to save it? America was too scared to go into the Sudan where Rebels controlled the territory. Really? Maybe with Biden but I digress.
2. The plot line mirrored the Good, The Bad and the Ugly at times and at others was like Star Wars with Luke Vs Vader.
3. It's time to kill "The Hunter". We all know he'll survive this like he survived everything else but it's time to find a new bad guy. Stick a fork in him already and we all know Peter should've finished the job because he'll be back. Again. Next time we see "The Hunter" he'll be in a wheel chair with a ventilator, unless you get him a Vader suit.

Great book throughout but believability was so so
