In Kindle County, a woman is killed in an apparent random drive-by shooting. The woman turns out to be the ex-wife of a prominent state senator and an old acquaintance of Judge Sonia Klonsky, on whose desk the case lands. Too many forward and back chapters. Hard to follow unless isolated. Performed by a variety of readers.

Complicated read as it jumps time frames

Love the author, love the story, but at the beginning and end of every chapter is this suspenseful transition music that's just awful and it totally disrupts the flow of the story. But... Still a good listen if you can get past that.

Great plot. AWFUL sound interludes.

One of the best audio books I have listened to.
The characterizations were spot on, and as always, Scott Turows language is moving .

excellent

The story is excellent and having several performers really helped to make it clear who was talking. I highly recommend the book but be prepared to be annoyed by the ridiculous music between the chapters

Wonderful but annoying music
