All Dag Gates wants is a place to call home. (And to practice magic freely.)

All Stefan Bjorne wants is peace in his adoptive country. (And less paperwork.)

All Mikkel Vinters wants is both of them. (No, really, he could do wedding bells.)

So why, pray tell, is half the magical community set on denying them all their wishes?

so good all around. it made me laugh many a time with all the snark and banter and the story itself was well rounded and didn't feel drawn out. can't wait for the next book am already frothing at the mouth for it heh

loved this story

With just enough details to solidly create the setting this reads like a Shakespearean comedy of errors. I loved how the point of view shifted between the three main characters with different voices to correspond with the narrating character. I eagerly followed along as the relationships developed, though dearly wished I could knock some sense into the less observant folks. The various mysteries that were revealed and solved were also delightful.

laugh out loud funny in places

I usually don't leave a review but I felt this had to be said. I don't know if anyone else has said this, and I realize that Va's are reading in accents. However I found that while I loved reading the book itself. The narrators just didn't bring the book alive to me. It seemed like they were rushed trying to read it. There was no feelings behind the characters and I was listening at 1x. I LOVE the author and all of her series. I just think that if the narrators had slowed down some and added more emotions it would’ve been better.

I love the book but not the narrators
