"I think it's time you found me a new dad …"

Single mom Dori Robertson is suddenly under pressure to find a new father for her eleven-year-old son. And he's already chosen the guy—former pro-football player Gavin Parker. As it turns out, Gavin's daughter wants her dad to marry again, too. When the kids join forces, Gavin suggests he and Dori start dating, just to satisfy the kids. Dori figures it's safe enough … until he kisses her!

The store line was engaging from start to finish. The matchmaker characters were perfectly written.

Great Story!

I realise this is not my thing (when and if I do romance it has to be comedy) but this is a prime example of why it is not my thing. I bought it on sale bcos I like this narrator (and bcos I love Trading Christmas, the movie, and was hoping this might be similar); but this was so sickeningly sappy I literally felt unwell at times.
So why 2☆? well, I managed to finish it (solely due to the narrator - what a waste of a good narrator).
But if you like books where both lead characters are severely immature, play games and are both quite arrogant in their own ways, then this is the book for you. (I might be able to overlook that in characters in their early twenties, but not in characters in mid 30s).

pathetic. and ridiculous

Very unimpressed with this book and the narration. Maybe not fair to the narrator because the book was so weak. The male lead was a real jerk at the beginning of the book and yet she falls for him. We never really find out why. She presents as weak and needy. No chemistry, no growth, long, long drawn out angst over does he love me. I could barely finish it.

Immature characters all around
