This was a bad buy. Who would chose a non-Brit to narrate the story? It sounds awful. Besides lacking an authentic accent, the reader narrates too fast and gives very little drama or life to the reading. Absolutely not worth paying for this narration.

Flat voice, not British, no life to the story

Don’t buy this audiobook! The narrator speaks with an American accent (and then at one point straps on a ludicrous attempt at “cockney”), mispronounces British English words and phrases, and generally stumbles over reading out loud. I gave up a few stories in because it’s so distracting I could barely follow along. My guess is that this is an Amazon employee trying to save the company a few bucks by not shelling out for a professional narrator. It’s a shame because the stories themselves are classic Sherlock Holmes and deserve better.

Amateur narration with American accent, full of mispronunciation
