Miss Honaria Honeyford was sent to London to save the family fortune by hunting a wealthy husband - and being a loving (if not entirely dutiful) daughter, she obeyed. But if she was reluctantly willing to surrender her hand, this beautiful young lady who could ride, shoot, and argue with any man was not about to lose her head or heart to the dismal dandies of the Marriage Mart. First she met the arrogantly attractive Lord Alistair Stewart, who treated her infuriatingly like a little girl. And then she met the skillfully seductive Lord Channington, who treated her intoxicatingly like a desirable woman. And now she had to choose just which role to play and just how much risk to run.

Unlike the other reviewers, I admire and appreciate Lindy Nettleton's performance. I believe her to be an excellent narrator and have purchased many of Beaton's books read by Nettleton.

Miss Honeyford is a delightful change from the usual young miss. I enjoyed this story very much. Lord Alastair is a wonderful chap and well, . . . all's well that ends well! Highly recommended! Great fun. Engaging characters. Very romantic.

Miss Honeyford is a delight!

Miss Honeyford was a quick and easy regency read, no sex for those who don't like it. It had potential while some parts were good, others bugged me. I did liked the tension and interactions that was between Lord Alistair and Honey, before they fell in love. While this book is not a laugh out loud kind of book, there were a couple of amusing parts. What bugged me was that Honey started out with a strong personality then basically became a regular debutant. She does eventually come back to herself, but with such a short book it didn't work as well. I felt like the main characters needed a little more time to fall in love. Honey and Alistair seemed to hate each other until they were in love, without much reasoning. I almost thought I missed a part when it happened. While this is a good book for a sale I wouldn't use a credit on it. Narrator was good.

Brandy anyone?

Honaria Honeyford was raised to be one of the boys. She hunts, drinks, smokes and cusses like a sailor. Her father sends her to London to learn how to be a proper lady. As she’s trying to find a husband, she gets caught in all kinds of mischief. This book is full of romance, suspense and humor.

Cozy little Romance

I wasn’t sure in the beginning as the scenario of country bumpkin heroine who thinks of herself more of a man than a lady and drinks and smokes and swears was just too hard to digest.
I almost stopped listening after Honoria had a bottle of wine and some brandy and than proceeded to smoke a cheroot in a public house during her trip on a way London.
But I am glad I gave it a chance as it turned out to be a delightful love story and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Highly recommend 🌟

Liked the narrator, the main characters and the humor.
Also like that it was just the right length… didn’t drag on. MC Beaton has a way with words.

Loved it
