Liza Sutherland isn't looking for love. Not from a charity-auction date she didn't even bid on and especially not with Nationals first baseman Cole Collins, the guy she obsessed over as an awkward teenager. She won't get involved with a notorious player, no matter how attractive Cole is.

Cole Collins is up for contract renegotiation, but after too many late-night parties, he'll need some positive publicity before he can make the roster. His agent Frank pitches Liza as the perfect prop - only Cole didn't account for Liza no longer being just a teenager with a crush. She's gorgeous and smart and he's instantly hooked.

When Frank makes Liza a deal she can't refuse - a bet she will fall in love with Cole or a cool half mil goes to charity - the game is on. But neither bet on the real feelings that surface. Could a fake fling turn into an official forever?

Cute but predictable.

*Warning- plot line spoilers part way through review.* The plot was cute but very predictable and prosaic. The performance was well done. I would consider other works from this author but hope the plots are more inspired. For most of the book the characters were very frustrating with their ‘behind the scene’ deals that you knew would blow up in their faces. The FMC kept promising she was going to be honest but the timing just wasn’t right- that’s ridiculous! Pick up the phone or just open your mouth. The story had a sweet resolution that partially redeemed the characters but, eh, not sure how much they deserved their happily ever after.

Mediocre at Best

The story, though somewhat predictable, was acceptable. It was the narration that was just the worst. How can someone narrate an entire book with the same, slow pacing and countless mispronunciations. Did the narrator check any words for proper pronunciation? Was there no editor?
This should not have been published in this condition.

Sweet, very romantic, also cheesy and predictable

very sweet love story. The 2 characters were well developed, the writing good, and a surprise.

Just a few tiny flaws...
Aside from the 1 background story surprise each aspect of the story was very predictable. It is romantic but almost G rated. Though they both secretly admire each other's figures there was zero heat.

Narration not my favorite, hard to distinguish between characters and the narrators voice is quite high pitched like a teen. Would be great for comedy maybe but not romantic conflict.

If you are listening for free, definitely a cute story.

Very sweet story. It was cute and not really any steamy parts. Glad it was included with my membership

Fun

No sex. Good story. I enjoyed the give and take. I had to listen to it a little faster but I really liked the pie contesto felt like I was really watching
