Worth isn't given but taken.

After her 12th birthday, Adelheid von Vuldar must take the next step for her ascension to the throne, the Reginnaglar Ceremony. For generations, members of the imperial family have tested their mettle in dungeons to prove their worthiness, and now, it is Adelheid's turn. Leading her fledging band of knights, Adelheid will delve deep into the Byrgir Dungeon and become one step closer to the throne.

But as Adelheid soon discovers, monsters are far from the worse danger within the dungeon.

Fantastic follow up to the first novel. The combat it exciting and keeps you engaged, the character development keeps you attached to the cast. The way the author transitions to third party perspectives to show you the situation from a different perspective, but doesn't linger there for longer than necessary is great. Can't wait to see what Adelaide will do next, and how he growing list of enemies will respond.

Solid story, character growth and well written action.

It’s a good story. Awesome effect. Poor world building, poor character development, great plot holes but awesome narrative.
Story:3/5

Good almost great

In the first book there wasn't much action which worked for the benefit of it, because as much as we hear about the magic/aura system it's not very well explained when it comes to how it would work practically in a fight.

This second book has a lot more action and a lot of it feels stretched and unexciting.
Often we have a fight in an environment that we know nothing about against an enemy that we only know the name of.
Then our hero casts some spells that we may or may not have seen before that have very varying effects that we don't know how many can be cast and what kind of damage could be expected. And the rest of the party swing weapons, but with all the same problems of ambiguity.

Don't get me wrong i still love this series and will get the next book, it's just that half of the action feels like filler.

More action, a lot of it lacklustre.

First the performance was exceptional. I felt as though the story should have been extended a little longer. That is really my only gripe. I would like at least 16 hrs of content. I wish I could give half stars it would be a 4 1/2 stars out of five. Good work

Worth the time and credit
