A Warhammer 40,000 Audiobook

A disgraced Night Lord must deal with infighting and insurrection among his cadre and a bloody-handed rival to maintain his waning grasp on power. Could a new conquest be what he needs to set things right and regain what he has lost?

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

It's a glimpse into what passes for politics among the most cruel and merciless of Heretic Astartes. They're not only a nightmare to their foes, but to their rivals as well, and will stop at nothing to satisfy their ambition and bloodlust.

THE STORY

Dalchian Rassaq, the Skin-Taker, erstwhile lord of the Blades of Atrocity, is broken, battered, and betrayed. From the heights of infamy he has fallen, and now his Night Lords face the threat of extinction under the command of a hated rival. Would-be allies and merciless foes circle, and what few warriors remain loyal to him are riven by open defiance. Dalchian must outplay his rivals and regain mastery among his own, or be condemned to oblivion.

As the whisper of a phantom voidship reaches him, he sees a chance to reclaim what he has lost and strike out at those who have wronged him. With only a renegade tech-priest and the cruelty of the Night Lords to his advantage, his ordeal will be great. But the will of the Skin-Taker is no meagre thing, and his blades yet thirst…

Great book. Wish we saw some returning characters in this book. Great characters and I hope they can unite with Decimus in a crusade against the imperium

Great book, a bit disappointed

An excellent tale of the Eighth Legion. Not quite on the level of ADB's Nightlord trilogy, but enjoyable from start to finish.

Nightlords being evil, chaos space marine duplicity.

Special shout out to every moment of battle versus the imperial forces. I loved that the author stuck to the point of view of the Night Lords in all major moments. Sisters of battle are depicted accurately and are shown to be badass here. As a non-sororitas fan, i really liked them here.

Regarding plot of the main character, if you read the recent alpha legion book “Sons of the Hydra”, you see a lot of parallels. I gave that story a 5/5 and this is no different.

Voice acting… thank god its not ai yet. We pay too much per book to be handed terrible slop. 5/5.

Great Chaos-sided read

An absolutely astonishing audiobook; I hope these characters don't die, and we actually get miniatures for them. I want to paint those. I also hope that if they get a book series, they answer some of the questions left from the Night Lord trilogy.\n What happened to Decimus? And will they meet the surviving characters from that book? I want to see their reactions to just talking to survivors of the long war, night lords like the bleeding eyes that were at the walls, as they were in the siege of Terra, because I don't want to spoil, but the reaction of the skin taker to learning of Nostramo was cool!

Our blades yet thirst

Loved it, listen to much schlock, this here is a good one. Best nightlords since voidstalker
