Welcome to paradise. We hope you survive your stay.

There are three rules to follow during a vacation at the famous Koh Sang resort.

1. Leave the past behind. When Cass sets foot on the coast of Thailand’s world-famous party island, she’s searching for an escape. With dark secrets following her every move, Koh Sang becomes the perfect place to hide.

2. Always be careful who you trust. Now, years later, Cass is a local dive instructor alongside the Permanents, a group of expats who have claimed the island as their own. The Permanents don’t linger on who they were before the island. Simply because, like Cass, they all have something to outrun.

3. If someone discovers who you really are, run. But suddenly, a dive student is found dead and paradise comes crashing down. Because this isn’t the first mysterious death on the island, and it won’t be the last. Someone knows who Cass is, and they’re ready to make sure justice is finally served.

This story was unusual which can be good or annoying. It was both at times. Parts were really unbelievable & some parts drug on too long, but it had lots of unexpected twists & turns. It was hard to get into but it got better. I’d recommend by saying it’s good - not excellent - solid C+/B- rating

Rate it a C+/B-

The female narrators voices were so similar it was hard to differentiate when one or the other was telling there portion so had to pay very close attention

WTF I did not see that coming… what a mind fuck

It took a long while to get into the story; a slow burn with twists, turns, and an unexpected and bumpy journey. I found the narration to be particularly difficult to listen to, however. It tended to be on the boring and slow/monotone side of things and I found it very difficult to stay in the story. I enjoy when narrators use different “voices” for characters and neither of the narrators for Brooke or Cass did that. It made the dynamics between various characters feel unbelievable.

The book is filled with people with a variety of accents yet none of the narrators attempt the non American accents. But speaking of which, their own regional accents are incongruent with the characters, why is the girl from Kentucky speaking with a New England accent? Also the story plot makes no sense. Motives are dumb. Plot holes galore.

Bad narration.

This was a good book, the only problem was all of the interesting parts in my opinion were in the last 20% but I will say the last 20% was great.

Slow story, fabulous ending
