There's no rest for the wicked… or the dead they've left behind.

It's been four years since the Hartnett House Massacre. Four years since Whitley Adams rescued her sister, Nora, from a nightmare she herself still struggles to escape.

When a documentary filmmaker expresses interest in telling their story, Whitley's sister believes it could be the answer to all their troubles. A chance to finally confront their past, and move on with their lives once and for all.

The past isn't the only thing waiting at Hartnett House. More than memories roam its forgotten halls. More than shadows lurk behind its dark, unwashed windowpanes. Something sinister has awaited Whitley's return since that fateful night four years ago, biding its time for one thing, and one thing only...

Revenge.

Story is ok. Not a fan of the narrators voice. I probably wouldn’t recommend the book.

Ok story

The story was great, extremely creepy… the narration ruined it for me. The valley girl whiny voice was horrible and became annoying. Besides that, it was a good listen.

The story was good. The beginning had me wanting them to get on with it. The sister dialogue seemed extended to me but could just be me. Once the story really began it had me guessing what was going on. I enjoyed the story. The time traveling back and forth through me off here and there without looking at the chapter titles. I got used to it.

One criticism I did have was the voice actors voicing Nora almost valley girl twang at the end of her statements. I have a book out and for some reason voice actors seem to do this. I had to tell my VA to make sure to not turn the character into a valley girl. So it annoyed me. The other thing was Hannah the interviewers voicing was performed like a seductive voice. It through me off to hear this. If a character would not talk like that in real life, they wouldn’t in the page. Most of the time it was fine, but there were times I couldn’t tell if she was interviewing or trying to seduce someone. Voices can take you out of the story.

All and all the story was good! A solid 4.

Good Book!

I really enjoyed this story from beginning to end. Finished it in a day due to the length, as well as one I started I just couldn’t stop listening. I really enjoyed this. Definitely great for a spooky season read!

Actually had me looking over my shoulder
