Government rampant spending is out of control, creating blooming deficits as the government gorges itself on debt. An enigmatic hedge fund manager, Mitch Fleming, purchases a government-funded research facility boondoggle located on 36 square miles in the Idaho National Forest for the value of the timber. Mitch’s new partner, Duncan McFarlane, has a vision to create a prepper paradise and self-contained society within the forests of Idaho called the Retreat. How can their society and preparedness possibly survive the impending economic collapse of America and the ensuing violence as foreign governments come to collect on their outstanding debts?

Not bad, a different take on SHTF.

Well written and narration wasn’t bad. Could have done with better character development and actual descriptions on battles and action but I think the author played to his strengths which seemed to be his grasp on the economy.
