I really enjoyed this story. I will admit the beginning was a little slow to get into (but I am also a mom of 3 and a business owner so I was multitasking when I started this book). As the characters were developed more and I quickly became enthralled. By the end of the book I was frustrated there wasn’t a second audiobook to download. Thank god I have kindle unlimited and I can download it to read this weekend.

Amazing!!!

This book was just wow and well written. The world building and all the magical system was very unique and loved it all. The MMC is just ahhhh has my heart. The way the plot had me on edge because you didn’t know what to expect. My poor ma had to endure so much but the fact that he has a 2nd chance has my feelings rooting for him. The narration of Jacci & Gabe was like always phenomenal you can feel the emotions of the characters. Can’t wait for the 2nd book!

Great storytelling

This book has everything; mythology, deep complicated characters, just the right amount of setting description, dark Gothic vibes, witches, and a great story line that pulls you right in and keeps you listening (reading) nonstop to the end. This was the first of the 3 book series and I can't wait to see where the story goes next! So much left for Mansyn to grow, learn, and do still!

Outstanding Narrators!

Dark fairytale energy. Curses, feathers, secrets. 🖤

The narrators are fantastic and bring this gorgeous gothic story to life! I loved the magic...hidden realms, secret portals, and a shadow world tucked just behind the ordinary. It gave serious Diagon Alley energy, but darker. The plot was a little predictable, but I didn't care. The vibes were strong, the setting was gorgeous, and the mystical elements kept me hooked.

Unique Fantasy

This book was unlike any that I’ve read before. What an interesting premise! This was a great debut novel. In the beginning of the story, we learn that Mansyn was taken, gone for days, and then woke up in her own bed with no recollection of anything. We also learn her family is cursed, and it just goes from there. The mystery of it kept me hooked and wanting to know what was happening. It’s a ride, that’s for sure. And we get a winged shadow daddy 🥵 The twist at the end was crazy and left me with so many questions. Now I need book 2 ASAP because I need answers!

This audiobook is done in duet by Jacci Prior (@jaccipriornarrator) and Gabe Walsh-Shore (@gabewalsh_shore). Jacci does an amazing job as always. Gabe was new to me, and I really enjoyed his narration style. They brought all of the unique characters to life.

You should definitely check this out if you like fantasy!
