From the author of the Kindle Number One bestseller The Letter comes a heartbreaking novel of tragedy, hope and second chances, set in England in 1976 and the present day, and in Australia. Readers who treasure the novels of Lesley Pearse and Susan Lewis will adore this author. It's the long hot summer of 1976 and the regulars of The Taverners pub in Manchester are preparing for a day trip to Blackpool. But after a horrific coach crash not all of the day trippers make it home. Forty years later and the consequences of that fateful day are still being felt by the families. But what if not all was as it seemed on that stretch of motorway and someone has been hiding a devastating secret...?©2016 Kathryn Hughes 20th Century Family Life Historical Fiction Women's Fiction Heartfelt Tearjerking Genre Fiction Feel-Good

Very much liked the story line. Lots of characters that were well described. Some very happy moments, but lots of sad ones as well. I had no idea where it was all heading, but I very much enjoyed the final outcome. Great performance! I definitely recommend this book.

Lots of twists and turns

I so enjoyed The Secret, marvelous story. When it first started it's a little dry, but doesn't take long to really get you interested and interested in all the characters of the book. But a such surprising secret. How it's kept a secret still something happens. All comes out but there are more secrets that come about. I don't want to spoil anything fantastic book.

Excellent Audio
