She's getting back in the game, one blog post at a time.

Samantha Higgins never thought driving her husband's car would forever change her life. But one conversation later, heard through his Bluetooth, and Samantha is changing her last name. While trying to figure out who Samantha Decker is, she writes what she thinks is the final post on her blog, announcing her divorce. When the post goes viral, she finds herself with a new title, The Sidelined Wife, and an unbelievable following.

To make matters more interesting, her younger brother's best friend, Reed Cassidy, who was a thorn in Samantha's adolescent side, moves back to town as the new head football coach for her son's high school team. Unbeknownst to Samantha, Reed has harbored a crush for his old babysitter all these years. But, Samantha isn't keen on dating anyone, much less a younger man that used to booby trap her bedroom with firecrackers.

While Samantha is doing her best to learn and even make up some of the rules of single life and being a semi-celebrity, Reed comes in and changes the game. Now Samantha must decide if she should get back on the field or if she prefers the sidelines.

What you'll love:

single mom/son’s coach
healing from betrayal/divorce
online blogger
childhood crush
swoony kisses!!

This is a romance, yes, but it is more than that! It is story about a woman finding herself - learning to love herself - after experiencing betrayal and heartache. How do you pick up the pieces of your life when your husband cheats on you? Sam is trying to to take her broken pieces and turn them into something stronger than before and I love that she uses her new blog as the "sidelined wife" to not only heal but to help other women who are trying to do the same.

And of course we have to mention the sweet, adorable romance with Reed! He was patient and steady and soo incredibly sweet and understanding with Sam. I loved the push and pull tension and that Sam found the hea she absolutely deserved! The narrator's voice was perfect for the book and really brought Sam's story to life and I will definitely be listening to this one again soon!

I received a complimentary copy but a positive review was not required.

TW: talk of infidelity (past); mild innuendo and language but nothing graphic

What a beautiful and emotional story!

This is the best book of Jennifer Peel’s I that I’ve listened to. I believe it’s my 5th book of hers I’m acquainted with.

My favorite scene is the Halloween/suprise birthday party. Pay attention to the costumes…. I laughed about that for days- German Shepherd! Ha! Seriously subtle and hilarious.

Thanks Jennifer, for such wholesome entertainment! 💗

Funny, real, entertaining and amazing! 😊

This story felt real, honest, deep, and raw as it deals with a husband who cheated with a younger woman, and the emotional devastation that comes with that.

The way the author captured the emotions of Samantha felt real and authentic. There are some other events regarding other family members and their struggles, but overall this is a positive story with some fun humor, and definitely a swoony romance as Samantha gets a second chance at love. I love stories where a woman finds someone new who treats her the way she deserves, and this one certainly does that. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Emotional story with a satisfying ending
