I got the dreaded phone call, the one every baseball player hopes and prays never comes. I was traded - yeah, that phone call - traded from my longtime team of over 10 years to not just any team...to my childhood rivals, the Chicago Rebels.

I was completely and utterly screwed, right? Wrong. The trade was the least of my concerns. I met a girl, Natalie. She was perfect, but I swore I would never get involved with anyone during the season. It was too complicated. But can you believe I had zero restraint when it came to this girl? I couldn't get her out of my head, and the more I talked to her the more I realized I needed her in my life.

So what's the problem? Why am I screwed? Because, Natalie, the girl I can't stop crushing on, yeah...she's married.... At least, that's what I was told....

Great story. The male narrator was great, but I have to say I was disappointed in the female narrator. Her inflections when she ended a sentence was nasally and whiny. The story was too good not to push through.

4.5 stars - I had heard of the infamous Cory Potter during the previous three books in the series, but nothing prepared me for the man himself. I adored the way he feel so hard for Natalie and was waiting with baited breath for him to learn the truth about her marital status. Their easy connection and banter had me sighing even as I was impatient for their relationship to go further. The pure emotions this story drew from me ran the gamut from laughing out loud, to fanning my face 🥵, to crying at my desk, and yet I kept listening because I needed to see where the story went next. Finally, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how much I enjoyed the secondary characters in the story, both familiar and new, several who ensured that I was a Rebel at Heart by the end of the story.

Cory Potter lived up to the hype

I love love love Corey and Natalie. But this book was so frustrating. First it took nearly one third of the book for them to admit to each other they both had feelings. I get the need to build up the story, but their internal struggles, repeating the same thing over and over in their heads for 2 hours was so annoying. Then, there was the angst that could have been solved in a minute conversation.

There just wasn't much of a plot. Nothing really should have kept them apart. It was mere communication or lack of. Annoying

Frustrating

Another great book. Connor needs more emotion in his voice as a narrator I think. But I like him.

Listen, this was such a great story. There were ups and downs twist and turns miscommunications lots of angst not to mention all the heartbreak and longing and of course the spice was spicy.

Such a good story
