A woman is found strangled in her own bed—killed with a man’s necktie.

No forced entry. No witnesses. One detail that doesn’t belong.

Detective Madison Knight knows the crime scene is staged. The house is spotless. Impersonal. But a single photograph on the nightstand tells her the murder was anything but random.

The detail hits closer than it should—and Madison can’t shake the feeling it’s the key to everything.

Then the killer strikes again.

A second woman is found dead, strangled with the same brand of necktie. Madison realizes she’s chasing a calculating serial killer—one who chooses his victims carefully and hides in the shadows.

As the clues begin to connect, Madison uncovers a dark truth no one else sees. The murderer isn’t finished—and if Madison is right, he’s already choosing his next victim.

Fast-paced, twisty, and addictive—perfect for fans of female-led crime thrillers and police procedurals.

Book one in the international bestselling Detective Madison Knight series.

Not a fan of the narrator. Tried so hard to pay attention but kept losing interest due to the blandness.

So-so narrator

Well if you’re involved in a “church” you obviously kick her or of your house: she has made a mistake and having no food or shelter or safety will make her see the error of her ways. In addition being forced to give birth to a child she doesn’t want is also punishment. The child, suffering from poor nutrition and being unwanted is just a by product of this. I see this used as a plot device so often. What is wrong with this culture that hates children that much.

In any case things were going along fine with this story until the last plot twist…then it all fell apart.

What do you do if your daughter gets pregnant?

Main character didn't like dogs. This was a turnoff. I will not bother reading more by this author

Not very interesting. Certainly not a 'thriller'.

I absolutely loved this story. The only thing I'm disappointed in is the narrator's voice of Blake. As I'm assuming he is going to become a major character in The following books. I think she's trying to give him some kind of accent and it made it more annoying. But the story over all amazing and the narrator over all did a great job.

loved it
