Nicholas Delmore, the earl of Hawksley, was not expecting a snowstorm-sieged London evening to end with a dagger held to his throat. Nor did he anticipate his spirited attacker to have glossy black tresses and lush red lips that might invite a lesser gentleman to steal a kiss. But before he can demand his beautiful assailant to identify herself, she faints dead away in his arms.

Sania Aaryan has no choice but to trust the breathtakingly handsome earl of Hawksley with both her life and her sister's. Trusting him with the truth, however, is out of the question. Because fleeing India for the icy shores of England was rash. Impulsive. And it might have saved her life - only to land her into the arms of a man who poses an entirely different kind of danger.

Now Sania is experiencing a world filled with luxury and opulent decadence. But starry nights and fairy-tale balls cannot chase away the shadows of Sania's secrets. Especially when her terrible past arrives in London with an eye for icy vengeance....

Contains mature themes.

Loved this story... So hoping for more in this series
The writing is beautiful and the narrator brings the story to life

Amazing

What’s with authors not paying attention to history when writing? This story is full of anachronisms. She uses words not even invented during the time period, like narcissism, egotism, and angst. One other thing that was distracting was the use of modern cliches and song lyrics. Other than that, it was a good story with excellent narration.

Good, but…

This had a little more meat on the bone than the first book. The twist near the end saved this book for me. Pretty good listen

Getting Better

Seriously, I’m so happy to have found Sapna Bhog. This series is just awesome and I cannot wait for more.
Hawk and Sania are so perfect for each other. Hawks troubled youth causes him no end of torture but Sania’s caring and loving nature brings out the real him. Their steamy romance with its fantastic trips and turns just melted my heart. I cried and laughed and just like book 1, I may have moaned a bit. Start with book 1 of the Elusive Lords series, you won’t regret it.

Another great listen!

I struggled to finish this one. I love these romance novels and the India parts were great. I really disliked the narrator especially during the steamy parts, she was just creepy. she also had trouble with the male voices, also creepy. I noticed a lot of modern phrases in the dialog that a better editor could have fixed. All said, this was a good story with a few bugs that could be overlooked. I don't think I would buy a next one if it was available, specifically because of the narrator.

A good story
