He left to see the world, but the world is a cruel master

Setting out to be a wandering cultivator, Sen has high ideals. Half-remembered stories of honorable cultivators and the kindness of his teachers shaped his expectations.

The world he finds is something else entirely. Thrust into deadly conflict, Sen finds himself fleeing the death of a sect cultivator in fear of retribution. As his flight carries him across the kingdom, he finds his ideals challenged by bandits, cultivators, and demon beasts.

In the city of Emperors Bay he will face the true crucible of his character and skills, and discover the harsh truth that violence is necessary to survive.

the first book saw our main character as a street kid picked up my cultivator. there was something unique about him that in my opinion was never really expanded upon in the first book nor now in the second. it is simply explained as something that is unexplainable but allows the main character to hide himself to a certain degree. in the first book it was training and then starting out on his journey. this book is fully covering his journey abroad while discovering who he is and how he wants to act. he does good stuff but also makes quite a few mistakes. we get our first love interest in the book and our main character gets in way over his head. I think that the book has a proper ending, but it would not surprise me if some argued that it was a soft cliffhanger. perhaps it would be more accurate to say that the book ends leading into what's going to happen next. with that I will simply say Well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing the story to us, the audiobook listeners.

I recommend the story

The more I listen to this author the more I love the story. It’s immersive and the main character is humble. Looking forward to the next book.

I was ecstatic when I saw the last chapter named Bloopers. At first I thought it was just going to be the narrator just do fumbles in parts of the story but no, it was true bloopers of random shit happening in a few clips. It's tye funniest thing I've heard in a while, also the story was good. One star less than the first one but plus a star for the bloopers.

That's what bloopers should be!
