Cleaning Victoria Randolph, home brought in the money needed for her son’s tennis lessons. Every Thursday, the same thought of quitting, there was no pleasing her, it seemed. Grabbing the laundry to start washing clothes, when she noticed a heap in the corner. Thinking it was clothes, by the walls, it was a body instead. Husband says everybody loved her, the maid, said differently. The body showed it was very personal. This was just the beginning of a case for Kate, when more women are killed, the common link, the church. Once again he has given a winner of a story. The plot flows, you love Kate, you like her new partner, and the encouraging comments Kate says about her. You want truthful answers what was Victoria really liked. Did the three know one another.
Given audio for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

I loved it!

Victoria by Blair Howard kept me guessing on who the killer was. I love the Harry Starke series and was immediately attracted to the Lt. Kate novels. I kept guessing the wrong killer in this book. The author is fantastic for throwing up suspects that do not pan out. Motive, means, and opportunity was what I kept thinking when trying to figure it out. Renee Maxwell was wonderful performing this book. She is a great voice for Kate. I definitely will listen to more by this author and narrator. This book is a standalone listen and part of the Lt. Kate Gazzara series with mentions of Harry Starke. The imagery in the book is so well done. I can envision much the Tennessee community.

My second Blair Howard Book Series

Just getting started on reading Blair Howard’s Lt Kate series. Through book 4 and loving every one of them. The drama and mystery is just as sharp as his Harry Stark book series. Kate is smart in solving murder cases but just like Harry tends to occasionally find herself in bad situations. Looking forward to more books in both series.

A thrilling murder mystery

Victoria is a thrilling mystery about a murdered socialite whose death is investigated by a tough as nails female cop. This is part of an entertaining series, but each book stands on its own.

Contains deviant sexual content and disturbing murder scenes. Reader discretion advised.

The narrator of this book sounds as tough as one would expect the character to be. She does not have a Southern accent like the narrator of the first book had. Whether or not you prefer the accent, which is perhaps more accurate for the character’s geography, is up to you.
