My enemy is invisible. Nameless. Faceless. Controlled. Puppets on strings. Sheep in the masses. And I've turned into their number one plaything.
When I transferred to East Point Prep, I had one mission in mind: find the people responsible for murdering Magnolia. Someone within these entitled walls killed my only friend and threw her overboard like she was human trash.
Now, they'll pay.
My best friend told me everything through weekly emails, leaving coded clues in her simple messages. I know every incident, and I have the names of her bullies—her murderers.
Seger, Chase, Zeppelin, Carter, and Ainsley.
Somehow, everything gets twisted and turned around. Every piece of evidence turns to ash. Magnolia lied to me, and I have to unravel her words one piece at a time to understand the truth hidden within her code.
My pawns become my kings. The ones I once called my suspects have turned into allies. They help me search for the invisible culprit slithering through the shadows.
The hunter becomes the hunted.
This is a full-length, dark, new adult, bully romance full of mystery, spicy scenes, and foul language. Our leading lady has more than one man in her life, meaning she doesn't have to choose in the end. Pay special attention to the note about the secret code within the story (yes, secret code!).

Twist. Turn. Jaw on floor!

Web of Lies absolutely surprised me in the best way possible. I’ll be honest: the beginning dragged for me. The first few chapters felt a bit slow and weighed down by setup, and I found myself waiting for the story to find its footing. If the pacing had kicked in earlier, this easily could have been a 5-star read. But once it does get going? Ohhh, it gets good.
Once the momentum picks up, the book transforms into a gripping, twisty ride that’s hard to put down. The character dynamics start to sharpen, the tension builds beautifully, and the plot finally locks into place. That shift in energy is where the story really excels suddenly everything feels alive, dangerous, and addictive. The author does a great job layering secrets, raising stakes, and pulling the reader deeper into the world.
The ending? A cliffhanger that genuinely made me gasp. It sets up the next book perfectly without feeling cheap, and now I’m fully invested in diving into the rest of the series. What started as a “maybe” read has turned into something I’m excited to continue.
Strengths:
Once the pacing catches up, the story becomes fast, sharp, and immersive.
Characters grow more compelling as their motivations unfold.
Twists land well and keep you hooked.
Strong final act that ramps up excitement for the next installment.
Weaknesses:
Slow, sluggish opening that might lose some readers early on.
A bit too much setup before the real plot kicks in.
Overall, Web of Lies ends up being a thrilling and enjoyable read that rewards your patience. After that mid-story shift, I was absolutely hooked and now I can’t wait to see what comes next in the series.
Slow start but it getssss GOOD
