Not my cup of tea

I normally like Jenny Hale’s books, but I couldn’t connect with the storyline and the characters. The characters all seemed very one dimensional, and there wasn’t much of a plot. Much of the book seemed like it was spent narrating the thoughts in Ava’s head. It just didn’t work for me, I kept trying to give it a chance, but the only way I got through it was through sheer stubbornness.

I don’t like the narrator

I can only go a short way in this book. I just cannot take the narrator.

The happiness of family

Loves the way the story evolved with the characters. Old and mew characters as well.

Slow

The story was very slow, not much of a storyline. The storyline was very predictable.
