The woman I spent one hot night with ends up being my boss’s daughter, and if I want to keep my job, I won’t touch her again.

I work with my two brothers on Hawthorne Guest Ranch. We do the behind-the-scenes stuff with the real ranch and have strict orders to stay away from the guests, the staff, and especially the boss’s daughters. I do what I’m told, but when a woman comes into the bar and says she’s passing through, well… I give her a night to remember and try not to think about how I’d like to see her again.

I do see her again. The very next day, when she’s introduced not only as Jamison Hawthorne, but our newest staff member.

I try to stay away from her, but she has a way of making a guy want more. Only I don’t have more to give her. All that’s in my name is an old mine some whiskey CEO wants to turn into his next distillery. Yet if I keep sneaking around with Jamison, I’ll lose my job and get my brothers fired too. So it’s up to me to figure out how to be more for Jamison than some whiskey cowboy.

Sneaking around

Iverson meets Sunny in the local bar. They have a great night together. I enjoy their relationship building from him trying to pull away, after finding out exactly who she is, to sneaking around to be with each other. I appreciate that Sunny wants to be independent and get away from her controlling dad. I love that Iverson looks out for his brothers and that he wants more. The story is short and spicy and fun. The voices are easy listening.

A fun cowboy and rich girl/boss’ daughter short story to introduce this new series.

The narrators here are great. They narrate a short story beautifully to introduce the Foster House series. Who doesn’t love a cowboy who unexpectedly has a one night stand with his boss’ daughter knows she’s off limits but can’t forget her. She’s off limits but she’s also determined not to let this hunky cowboy get away. When a daughter stands up to an overbearing dad I’m all in. These two are a delicious couple to root for.

Iverson and Jamison

I'm so happy I went back for Iverson and Jamison's story. They were so sweet together and I loved their forbidden romance to pieces. Sunny was so smart and I really admired her casual emotional strength. She grew up and wasn't about to be pushed around even by those she loved.

This was the perfect setup to Whiskey Bargain, I almost want to read it again, but I'm too excited to start Whiskey Flirt.

The audio was fantastic. Once again Will Speare and Marissa Clay were perfect and I loved this listen so much.

Mmmmm…I am well and truly in my cowboy era and this did not disappoint. I’ve been looking for audiobooks with MMCs with thick accents, and this was absolutely perfect. I usually listen to my audiobooks at 2x speed, but had to slow it down to 1.5x, and that’s how you know the accent is THICK. I loved it.

I always love a novella, and this was great. It had some good spice, some tension between the MCs, and set it up for what I expect to be an awesome series! I love me a dirty talking cowboy and a girl who knows what she wants and this was exactly that.

If you like a thick southern accent, you must listen to this one!!

The narrators did a good job. These two hookup at a bar, Iverson thinking they won't see each other again. They meet again when Sunny's dad introduces her to his employees and they see each other again. It's a entertaining quick listen introducing characters from the series.
