But sometimes the heart has a mind of its own. It falls without warning.

The last thing I want to do is fall for the angry cowboy.

Blair Andrews has spent the better part of her adulthood playing trophy wife to her politician husband in San Francisco. All she knows is her pampered, polished, perfect life.

Until it all comes crashing down around her.

After hiding out in her sister’s spare bedroom for months to avoid pitying looks on the streets, she decides it’s time to escape city life and learn to stand on her own.

On a whim, Blair buys a tiny home in a small Wyoming town where she is certain her new neighbor, Griffin Barlow, can’t stand her. He owns the local bar, is constantly covered in dirt from working on his family's ranch, and never smiles.

Is he grumpy because she infiltrated his privacy when she moved onto the once quiet street? Or is there more to it than that?

Blair has sworn off relationships, leaving the city behind to start fresh and find her independence.

But in Bluestone Lakes, Wyoming, she’s finding more than that.

Maybe…she’s finding home.

Jenn McMahon's Finding Home offers a comforting and transformative escape, following Blair Andrews on an unexpected journey of self-discovery after a spectacular public fall from grace. Previously the meticulously curated wife of a San Francisco politician, Blair's polished, superficial life shatters, forcing her to seek refuge far from the city's judgmental gaze. Her impulsive purchase of a tiny home in the unassuming Wyoming town of Bluestone Lakes marks the literal and metaphorical beginning of her quest for independence.

The heart of the story centers on Blair's unlikely, captivating connection with her new neighbor, Griffin Barlow. Griffin is the quintessential grumpy hero: a perpetually dirt-covered rancher and bar owner whose initial brusqueness hints at a deeper, guarded nature. McMahon expertly crafts the rising tension between Blair’s initial aversion to his surly demeanor and the slow, satisfying unraveling of his secrets. Their dynamic—fraught with misunderstandings and budding attraction—forms the central emotional arc, delivering both humor and heartfelt moments.

Finding Home transcends typical romance; it is a profound narrative about shedding a former identity and finding belonging in unexpected places. As Blair embraces a simpler existence, she confronts her own vulnerabilities, learns to stand on her own two feet, and flourishes in an environment free from pretense. The picturesque setting of Bluestone Lakes acts as a character in itself, fostering a sense of community that allows Blair to truly feel at home. McMahon delivers a charming narrative that reminds us the most profound journeys are not about running away from the past, but about running towards a future where you truly belong.

The Audiobook Experience:

The narration by Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood elevates this beautiful story, proving to be truly next level. They expertly bring the emotion, witty banter, and depth of character to life, perfectly capturing the spirit of finding home and a second chance.

this starts out in a big city but it's definitely a small town Romance. she's living in the big city full of politics and her finds out her husband is cheating on her and does a 180 and goes to a small town. and that's where she starts all over again and this is where the story goes and she has a grumpy neighbor and you can kind of guess what happens from there. the story was entertaining and if you like small town Romance I would pick it up.

from the big city to the small town
