When Dallas Westbrook is forced to the dugout after an injury ends his professional baseball career, he’s offered the position of head coach for the team that built him. But he’s barely able to find his footing before a brutal season puts him on temporary leave. Dallas is known for impulsive decisions both on and off the field. So when the opportunity arises to be the father to his daughter he always wishes he’d had, he decides to take it...even though it means picking up his life and going to Wyoming.
Living in Bluestone Lakes was never supposed to be permanent—until he meets his neighbor.
Poppy Barlow is off-limits. She’s ten years younger and his daughter’s first grade teacher. She lives by routines, color-coded checklists, and quiet consistency. Where Poppy is soft and steady, Dallas is sharp edges and split-second decisions.
But life has a way of delivering exactly what they didn’t know they were missing, as if it was a puzzle piece slipping into place.
When love finally rounds the bases, it all comes down to who has the home field advantage.

Home Field Advantage was everything I hoped it would be and so much more!! Single dad (to the most precious little girl). Age gap. Sports. AND small town with a meddling old lady?? Absolutely yes to all of the above! But what I loved most (next to the spice, because OKAY HELLO CHAPTER 35 🥵🥵) was the mental health representation. OCD can be incredibly debilitating, and Jenn wrote it perfectly. Poppy’s internal dialogue made me feel so seen, and I can only hope that someday I’ll find my own Dallas to lean on when the chaos in my mind gets too loud.
When this book released in October, I was so excited to read it but said to myself “Finding Home was duet narration, so this one probably will be too… I’ll wait for the audio”. Best. Decision. EVER. Vanessa and Jason were an absolute dream as Poppy and Dallas!!! This was such a swoony, spicy read that I loved with all my heart. I can’t wait for more Bluestone Lakes!!! 💚
More Bluestone Lakes Perfection!!!!

"Poppy Barlow is my home run." 😍🫠
Okay baseball daddy.
I fell head over heels for Dallas and Poppy 💚💚 Their connection felt real and authentic right from the start—and listen… we love a man who falls first 😏
And don’t even get me started on Poppy and Sage (Dallas’ daughter) because that bond? EVERYTHING. My heart was not prepared.
Jason Clarke and Vanessa Edwin absolutely ate this narration. I genuinely can’t imagine anyone else voicing Dallas & Poppy—they were perfection.
And can we all take a moment to praise the author for no third act breakup 🙌🏼 because THAT is how you do it.

i loved that Poppy was truly able to feel calm in Dallas’ presence and that he never tried to change her OCD traits. he truly accepted her as she was- and she was such a perfect teacher and friend to Sage, i loved that she kept cotton candy ice cream and puzzles at her house mainly for Sage and they did them together!!! the way that he built a brand new baseball field and coached the kids little league ball, obsessed. his ex-wife and him being so supportive of each other is so healthy & not something you see often. he finally got his “big win” & found his home in Bluestone Lakes!!! 🥹🤭💚

Vanessa is believable as a 25 year old v*rgin with OCD. Her overall performance is proof that having mental health conditions does not mean you aren’t lovable or able to persevere above it. These pieces of her performance were emotionally charged and depict the chokehold that anxiety can manifest.
And Jason? He’s single dad Dallas and a former MLB player turned coach looking for some direction. Jason gives Dallas depth as a father who is truly helping to raise his daughter in a full-time capacity in a small town. When Dallas meets Poppy, their chemistry is undeniably real. Jason always turns up the swoon factor and Dallas has so much tender patience as Poppy discovers what she wants.
The kid voices from both Vanessa & Jason truly shine — you’ll find out why they are prominently sprinkled throughout the story as you listen. Rounding out the cast with found family, and an ex-wife who truly is a teammate and not an enemy — I found myself loving this entire story.
Vanessa and Jason are heartfelt and so damn good!
