When Dödz Bringare, a professional killer of the undead, is arrested for public disorder, he finds himself press-ganged into searching for a nobleman's dead wife.
Beset by venomous cultists, blood-drenched zombies, and the forces of the Blood Countess herself, Dödz must muster all of his strength and willpower just to survive. All the while, the whispers of the dead saint swirl around him, threatening to bring all to misery.
The first novella set in the Dying Lands of Mörk Borg. There isn’t much in the way of development with the characters, but given how short this story is, and how short the lives of the people in this world generally are, it’s to be expected. The story itself is interesting. The ending could be a little confusing for a reader/listener who isn’t familiar with Mörk Borg, but the journey to get to that point is brutal and violent and fun.
The narrator did a good job with most of the characters, and kept a good pace throughout. What i wasn’t a fan of though, was the weird noises/music in between chapters. The noises made it really hard to stay engaged with the story.
Overall I thought it was an entertaining listen, and some of the authors takes on events and items in the game will be shamelessly used by me when GMing in the future.
Enjoyable
