Dual narration worked very well

Surprisingly exceptional

This was a great story and hooked me from the very beginning. The elements of animals working side by side with the fae was an unexpected exciting twist. I cannot wait to continue the series and see where all the relationships go.

Immersive fantasy that you need!

I absolutely love this book/series. I preordered this audiobook and the narration was perfect! This is a great first book in a fantasy series with world building that is not confusing or hard to follow

Great Narration

this was a fine enough book. the Narration was pleasant to hear and really helped to distinguish the povs.
The story was pretty engaging up to when she encounters the Fae. The characters feel superficial and just completing scenes on a bucket list. there is no way an ordinary human with no resistance training could ever be so put together in the aftermath of violence and torture, and be able to just lock away her trauma. There is no way any King would let an unvetted intruder roam freely in the castle, or she would be invited to drink with people who by rights should not be trusting her.

This is supposed to be a slow burn, but things that should take weeks to develop happen overnight.

The world building saves this though. the scene with the nymph and then the animals was excellent.

I'd say skip this book though, it wasn't anything exceptional.
