A romp with Max Thorton becomes more, but Kenna McIntyre's standing by her tried and true method of dating - she's moving on. Having successfully dodged Max's calls and crushed any remaining sparks, Kenna learns that one of their encounters has produced startling results - a pregnancy she didn't believe possible and activation of her fire witch powers. Can she reconcile her past relationship failures with a future that includes Max - if only as the father of her child? And what about her knitting, crafting, home-body mom who turns out to be a bad-ass fire witch fighting for the good of humans everywhere? Can Kenna be a devoted mom, a crime-fighting daughter, and a newly awakened witch without losing her sanity? With the help of friends, Lizzie and Jack, her shockingly capable mom, and a feisty little magical book that refuses to be silenced, Kenna might just have a shot.

I don’t usually read many books from this genre, but I really enjoyed this one. The narration brought the story to life and held my interest throughout. The story was well thought out, complete and will keep you listening. I will be watching for this author in the future.

This is the fourth book in the series and since I have not read the first three, it was a bit confusing. The book flowed well and had a steady pace. The ending was anticlimactic and then there was a long list of definitions pertaining to the magical world. The narration was good but some characters sounded so much alike at times that it was hard to tell who was speaking. Starting with the first book would be advisable if you want to enjoy this series.

Witch's Diary begins with Kenna McIntyre having a bad day. All she wanted was to go to the grocery store for ice cream. Instead, she ended up waiting in a long line just to pay for ice cream which she stole and then discovered that she was a fire witch and adopted in which her adopted mother is her aunt. On top of it, Kenna discovered that she is pregnant with Max's child.

When her adopted mother, Gwen is kidnapped and tried as a terrorist by the witch's coven, Kenna is willing to do anything in rescuing her mother with the help of Jack, Max, John, and Lizzie, her best friend. The only thing she needed to do was to keep her hormone and her emotion in tact.

Kenna has always been level-headed in the Lost Library series. It is bad that Kenna has to deal with discovering that she is a novice witch and pregnant. But when her mother is kidnapped, Kenna would not be left behind to rescue her mom or allow her hormones dictate her objective.

Kenna is my favorite character in the Lost Library series. She is strong and independent. Readers/Listeners will want to know who will Kenna's love interest is going to be: Jack or Max. Both of these two men have great qualities. Both cared about Kenna but which one of them is serious about her.

The narrator, Kristi Burns, provided a more mature voice to Lizzie. In the first book, Lizzie sounded very naive in her social interaction with people. The only person, Lizzie interacted very well is with her best friend, Kenna. The narrator also provided a wonderful performance where listeners could relate to the "bad day" that Kenna is having. I would like the narrator to come back since she provided a more mature performance to the characters in the Witch's Diary.

I was given this audiobook by the narrator in exchange of an honest review. I was not compensated or influenced in any way in writing this review.
